James Mckoy, Studio Director
James is the first person to introduce Fletcher Pilates to Australia in a dedicated Fletcher Pilates studio.
While James draws experiences from a wide range of influences both in the Pilates and health and fitness worlds his most significant influence is from the work of Master Pilates Teacher Ron Fletcher. Having attended a workshop with Ron Fletcher in Singapore in 2003, James was so inspired by the truly unique style of Fletcher Pilates® that he entered the Ron Fletcher Program of Study in 2004 and completed his training at the Fletcher Pilates headquarters in Tucson, Arizona and is personally authorized by Ron Fletcher as an official disseminator of his work.
James is also a certified level 3 teacher with The Australian Pilates Method Association having completed the 15 month APMA certification and has a third full certification as a Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation practitioner with the internationally recognised Polestar International Education program.
James is also a Clinical Massage Therapist working at Collingwood football club in the AFL for 2 years and also at Olympic Park and Albert Park Sports Medicine Centres for 3 years, where he held the position as Head of the Soft Tissue Therapy Department.
He is also a certified fitness trainer with KINECT Australia and in November 2009 James became a certified kettlebell Instructor with the International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation under the instruction of world renown Kettlebell expert, Steve Cotter
Ashley Jacusiw, Studio Manager
From Toronto, Canada, Ashley is a Fletcher Pilates® certified teacher who has a background in dance, a keen eye for detail and brings great energy and enthusiasm to her teaching. Ashley was drawn to Fletcher Pilates because of the flowing nature of the work and by the fact she could stamp her own artistic flare on her classes while still retaining the integrity and intent of the classical Pilates repertoire.
Ashley enjoys working with people who invest time and effort into making significant changes to their bodies and has a specific goal to work with dancers and elite athletes from diverse disciplines.
Ashley also has a special interest in pre and post natal Pilates and is constantly researching and practicing new techniques to incorporate into her teaching.
From the "tough love" tradition of the dance world she grew up in, Ashley manages to be a strict and stern task master while simultaneously being hilarious and slightly eccentric! Her classes are usually booked out.
